“You cannot grow unless you know what your emotions feel like.”
Today's guest is Dr. Caroline Leaf. She is a communication pathologist and cognitive neuroscientist specializing in cognitive and metacognitive neuropsychology. Since the early 1980s she has researched the mind-brain connection, the nature of mental health, and the formation of memory. She was one of the first in her field to study neuroplasticity and how the brain can change with directed mind input. She’s also a speaker, podcaster and the author of multiple best-selling books, with her latest being “Cleaning Up Your Mental Mess.” She’s also created an app called Neurocycle which has a 5 Step Process to help you take back control over your thoughts and life, with scientific research showing it reduces anxiety, depression, and toxic thoughts by up to 81%.
Lewis's conversation with Dr. Leaf was so powerful that we had to split it into 2 parts, so if you haven’t listened to part 1 yet you can find it by going to www.lewishowes.com/1127
In this second episode Lewis and Dr. Caroline Leaf discuss how to rebuild confidence when doing an identity check, the 10 second pause breathing practice and how to do it, how our beliefs shape our identity, why positivity is so important to your brain health, how jealousy and envy can cause brain damage, and so much more!
